Update on the Work
Thursday, October 02, 2008
In today's climate of economic chaos and frequent ecological
disasters, it is important to find an anchor that is
stabilizing. We await the return of Jesus Christ while we
contend with pressures that come to bare down on us as our
world rocks and reels from the constant reminders being
handed to it that man cannot control his own destiny.
Unfortunately, when the voice of warning of further
disasters ahead should be heard with increasing volume
around the world, some in the greater church of God are
claiming there is no work to be done. They ignore the clear
statements in Ezekiel that say if we don't warn, the
disasters will come upon our own heads. They turn away from
Matthew 28 where Christ stated that he would be with us in
doing his work to the very end of the age. They forget there
is a remnant of the Philadelphia era, taught by Mr.
Armstrong and charged by him to hold fast to the truth and
continue the work to the very end. Their turning from the
clear commands of the Bible to be a part of a church that
serves only its own interests is tragic indeed. But is there
a work to be done?
This week I took a look at just one day on our mail server
for the Wonderfulworldtomorrow.org., September 30th, the
Feast of Trumpets. Here is a listing of the places visitors
came from to our website to request literature: Wagoner,
Oklahoma; Ipoh, Malaysia; Blackwood, New Jersey;
Hertogenbosch, The Netherlands; Bellevue, Nebraska; Zurich,
Switzerland; Seattle, Washington; Ruemlang, Switzerland;
Wesbaco, Texas; Pataskala, Ohio; Bergamo, Italy; Mount
Holly, Vermont; Kristianstad, Sweden; Winnipeg, Manitoba;
Kimball, Michigan; Lawton, Oklahoma; Monroe, Michigan;
Monrovia, Liberia; Mount Sterling, Ohio; Philadelphia,
Pennsylvania; Pembroke, New Hampshire; Cary, North Carolina;
Lyman, Utah; Midway, Georgia; Muscatine, Iowa; Florence,
Missouri; Canon City, Colorado; Vancouver, British Columbia.
Altogether they requested 69 pieces of literature. That day
over 1400 people visited the Website. It is impossible to
know how many tuned in to our broadcast.
At the feast in Colorado you will hear more about the work
we are doing. This is just a glimpse of what is taking place
as God uses our small efforts to do his work. Many are
writing in from all over the world to tell us they are using
our literature in their ministries to teach others. We are
giving them permission to reprint our literature so they can
give it to those they are reaching. Christ has opened a door
of unparalleled power to enable us to reach the farthest
corners of the world. In so doing he has given us a way to
remain focused on our goal of the Kingdom of God. Knowing we
are doing his work keeps us connected to him and to
one-another. It is what gives us stability in this age of
instability. With a vehicle as accessible and as powerful as
the Internet, what excuse would we have at the resurrection
to stand before Christ and say, we didn't do a work because
_____________. You fill in the blank.
